Fall 2025 marked a huge milestone for Lucky Number 7 Plants: our very first market as a business at the Delaware Pride Market. We arrived with trays of small starter plants, bright hydroponic greens, and our favorite glass planters filled with indoor arrangements—equal parts excited and nervous. By the end of the day, we were tired, grateful, and completely energized. The Pride Market was warm, joyful, and welcoming, and it felt incredibly meaningful to launch our in-person journey in a space centered on community and self-expression. We loved watching people light up when they found “their” plant, whether it was a tiny vine for a windowsill or a colorful hydroponic starter for their kitchen.

A few months later, we bundled up for our second-ever event: the Our Delaware Cultural Festival in Wilmington this past December. The winter setting brought a totally different vibe—festive, cozy, and buzzing with local makers, food, and art—but the same excitement around plants. Even in the cold, so many people were eager to talk about caring for houseplants through the winter, troubleshooting yellow leaves, and figuring out where to put plants in lower light. We spent hours chatting about soil mixes, watering schedules, and how to keep plants happy when the heat turns on, which honestly might be our favorite part of doing markets.

At both events, we focused on making plants feel approachable. Starter plants were perfect for first-time plant parents, while our hydroponic plants and glass planters drew in folks looking for something a little different or gift-worthy. We also loved introducing people to our quarterly subscription and the Lucky Number 7 Club—explaining how members receive a new starter plant each season, along with our newsletter and access to our growing community of fellow plant lovers.
Doing these two markets back-to-back seasons helped us realize something important: Lucky Number 7 Plants isn’t just about selling plants—it’s about helping people feel confident bringing more green into their lives. We’re so grateful to everyone who stopped by our table, asked questions, shared stories about their own plants, and supported us as we took our very first steps. If these first two markets were any indication, this little plant journey is just getting started. 🌱
